Planetary orbits are the result of the interplay between angular momentum (velocity), distance between the two bodies, and gravity. The time taken to complete an orbit is known as the planet’s period of revolution or year; the greater the distance between the planet and its sun, the greater the period of revolution.  The mass of the planet and the mass of the sun will also affect the period; the greater the mass of the sun, the faster the period of revolution.
