Preparing a Solution

Introduction to preparation of chemical solutions

Many of the science activities we conduct require chemical solutions of a specific concentration.  Many of these solutions can be purchased directly from a science supply vendor.  Most, however, can be prepared on site.  Preparing solutions of solids involves dissolving a precise mass of dry solid in a precise volume of solution.  This video provides an overview of the steps involved in preparing a solution.  Always consult the MSDS prior to working with any chemical.
